How To Jump Higher and Increase Your Vertical

There are many methods and exercises to increase your vertical or help you jump higher. Everybody has the ability to jump high (although good genetics do help), they just lack the knowledge of how to train to increase their vertical leap.

We are going to focus on the two most important muscles that will help us jump higher.  They are the calf and quadriceps muscles. The power and strength in your jump comes from the quads and the explosion that lifts you off the ground is a pair of strong calf muscles.

Exercises To Help You Jump Higher

Quads:
  1. Squats
  2. Leg presses
  3. Lunges
Calf:
  1. Toe raises
  2. Jump rope
Once you have developed your leg muscles, it's time to move on to plyometrics.  Plyometrics is a system of jump exercises that incorporates rapid and repeated jumping and single leg hopping motions to train your body to act like a spring.  It takes advantage of you body's natural desire to quickly stretch and explode into a rapid movement.  It's a combination or sets of movements that will increase your vertical and help you jump higher.

Good cardio is a plus so running and any form of cardio exercise will help you develop the stamina you need to keep yourself in the game.  Remember to stay focused and be disciplined once you start your jump program.  No shortcuts otherwise you are only cheating yourself.  The greatest reward will come only after the hard work you put in your jumping program.  You can jump higher, don't give up and JUST DO IT!

There are lots of jumping programs or systems out there that shows you how to increase your vertical but most of them are crap.  I found that the JUMP MANUAL is the only program I have come across that truly delivers on their promise of helping you achieve that vertical leap you've always wanted.
