Plyometric training should be part of any athlete that's looking for to increase their vertical jump. Executing these kinds of exercises will likely help athletes improve their speed and agility, indirectly. The core of plyometric training requires doing a number of jumps from different heights and at different intensities. The following are some exercises that you can perform to obtain the most out of these workouts and see results in jumping higher.
The items you should have to perform these types of exercises are boxes or anything you can jump off that are in different levels. The first exercise is a warm-up, and these are the squat jumps – get into a squatting position and jump as high as you can with your arms thrusting you up into the air. The next exercise is the box jump, which involves jumping off a box of some height and jumping back up on the box as quickly again. Another exercise is called bounding, and this involves you jogging and leaping off one leg at a time and switching on and off. Do each of the exercises for 10 reps and 3 sets, every other day.
Incorporating plyometric exercises is essential to any athlete that is determined to increase their vertical. Plyometric exercises are some of the most effective jump training exercises available but if you really want to step up your game, then you need to look into the jump manual.
The Jump Manual is a very comprehensive jump training program designed to increase your vertical and help you jump higher in just a couple of months. You can add up to 10" in just weeks of using this program. So try it out and see the results for yourself.

I'm pretty sure you've heard of the Air Alert system, Strength shoes, Plyos, Ankle Weights, College Programs, Stair Running, and all the other jumping programs out there that promises to help you jump higher and increase your vertical but there is only one program I've come across that can really deliver results.
Developed by trainer Jacob Hiller, the Jump Manual provides a comprehensive approach to adding inches to your vertical.
The system is made up of three main parts.
1. The first part is a workout chart, which gives you a complete fitness routine to improve muscle growth, joint strength, and the posturing and training for your jump itself.
2. The second is a full nutrition plan that will give you the foods that will increase energy and strength, and reduce the risk of injury.
3. The third part, which is optional, is the one-on-one coaching, which is done via email, and will allow you to have any questions answered, as well as tips and guidance.

Just like anything in life, there is the right way and the wrong way of doing things. I see a lot of info on how to increase your vertical and help you jump higher, but no one really talks about what not to do that will prevent you from elevating your game. So listen up and avoid these common sense mistakes.
5 mistakes that will prevent you from increasing your vertical.
1. Not stretching - too many people skip this. Warm up is vital before doing any strenuous exercise especially when it comes to jumping exercises. You need to stretch to warm up the muscles and prevent injuries. Dynamic stretches like jumping jacks, running in place, moving your arms in big circles back and forth and more effective than static stretches.
2. Working out too much - not much elaboration needed here. Train hard but that does not mean training till you puke or training seven days a week. You need to give your muscles time to recover. Maximum gains are achieved once your muscles recover from training. Rest and recuperate, your body will thank you for it.
3. Focusing on single muscle group - some people focus too much on exercising a single muscle group like the quads or calves only. You need to understand that jumping consists of your whole legs both upper and lower. Focusing on just one muscle group will strengthen those muscles but will inhibit your other muscles from growing, thus prohibiting your from achieving the vertical leap you want.
4. Too much strength training/plyo or vice versa - just like you don't train just one muscle group, you can't focus on just plyometrics or strength training exercises. You need a combination of both workouts so that you can train your leg muscles for strength and your fast twitch muscles for explosiveness.
5. Jumping from one jump program to the next - commitment and dedication is needed if you want to really want to increase your vertical. You can't lose focus and jump from one jump program to the next. Find a legit jump program and stick to it. Do not follow a program halfway and quit. You won't get any results and can even backfire on you and decrease the height of your jump.

There are many methods and exercises to increase your vertical or help you jump higher
. Everybody has the ability to jump high (although good genetics do help), they just lack the knowledge of how to train to increase their vertical leap.
We are going to focus on the two most important muscles that will help us jump higher. They are the calf and quadriceps muscles. The power and strength in your jump comes from the quads and the explosion that lifts you off the ground is a pair of strong calf muscles.
Exercises To Help You Jump Higher
Quads:
Good cardio is a plus so running and any form of cardio exercise will help you develop the stamina you need to keep yourself in the game. Remember to stay focused and be disciplined once you start your jump program. No shortcuts otherwise you are only cheating yourself. The greatest reward will come only after the hard work you put in your jumping program. You can jump higher, don't give up and JUST DO IT!
There are lots of jumping programs or systems out there that shows you how to increase your vertical but most of them are crap. I found that the JUMP MANUAL is the only program I have come across that truly delivers on their promise of helping you achieve that vertical leap you've always wanted.
